"Hello, I'm Donna Beth Joy Shapiro on behalf of ExpertVillage.com and today I'm going to show you how to iron a shirt. In this clip, we are going to steam this polo shirt. I've got somebody who is about to put this shirt on and go to the Ravens game. He wants it to look good. You would never iron a shirt like this; particularly a knitted color like this. You would quickly stretch the fabric out. So, just run your steamer around it and down the front. The nice thing about a steamer is that you don't really have to worry about melting those buttons, unless you leave it sitting there (which you wouldn't do). But, there are a lot of times where you've got little areas like this. With an iron, you wouldn't even begin to get into that without having it show through the other side that you've run an iron over it. So, sometimes you can use a steamer in conjunction with your iron. If you are ironing a man's dress shirt, and there's a teeny, tiny little area that you can't get into. A lot of times, I would just steam that so that it doesn't look so wrinkled and then just iron everything else. These wrinkles are falling out nicely. Any of these little water spots will dry, I'm sure. It's one hundred percent cotton. Stubborn wrinkles like that might take you a little bit longer, but they are going to fall out. You want to be careful when you hold the steamer. It is really hot here and almost as hot here, but doable. This, no way. The steamer is definitely not a toy. You should always make sure that children and pets are as far away as possible. There we go. Just turn it over. This part will dry up fairly quickly. Also, having this shirt on, if you don't get all the wrinkles out, just the heat of your body is going to make the rest of those wrinkles fall out. That looks pretty good; ready to go. Go Ravens! Thanks for watching. "
