"Hi this is Ben Brennan from Austin, Texas. I'm coming to you on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to be talking about panic attacks. Another contributing factor to panic attacks is not taking care of our physical bodies. Millions of people in America live largely unhealthy lives, never exercise, have horrible diets, smoke a pack a day and never have one anxiety attack. However, for the person who is predispose to anxiety or panic attacks due to genetics, chronic stress or stressful life events, being physically unhealthy could lead to a higher risk of developing a panic disorder or panic attacks. The good news is the converse is true as well. Staying physically healthy you can better equip your body to handle stress and can potentially be the difference between having a panic and attack and your body being able to cope with anxiety and stress. Examples of behaviors that can prevent anxiety attacks include; not abusing drugs, see seeing to smoke cigarettes. The use of stimulants including caffeine and cigarettes is actually one of the leading causes, some experts say of developing panic disorder for those people who are already predisposed having high anxiety and stress. And those use of stimulants are especially hard on the heart as abusing drugs and alcohol and so you can see how that relates to what we talked about earlier with the fighter flight response and how the heart and the breathing and the respiratory system are so key in whether or not you develop panic attacks. Becoming healthy enough to physically cope with anxiety and stress could be a great way for individuals who are biologically or genetically predisposed to high anxiety to avoid being a panic disorder."
