"Tip #5, again, do your research. This is always helpful, and in all my Expert Village videos I have spent some time talking about do your research. This is because it's a total waste of time for you to spend your whole day shopping for something and not have done your research in advance. If you don't know what you're looking for, chances are you're not going to get a very good replication of it when you're actually in the store. When it comes to perfumes and choosing a signature scent, doing your research is absolutely essential. You need to know what the current perfumes are on the market. What's the contemporary favorite? What do people like nowadays? Are you more of an old-fashioned person, for example Old Spice? Do you like celebrity scents? Britney Spears? J-Lo? Many celebrities have their own scent. But in order to find out what's out there, it's important to do a little bit of homework. In addition to getting your magazine samples and your counter samples, go online, take some time and research perfumes, and find out what's out on the market now. If you like a classic scent, Chanel No. 5 will never go out of style. But if you prefer something more contemporary, or all you know is Chanel No. 5, it's going to really help you in your choice to do your research."
