"I'm Candi Cane Canncel with Expert Village. Now what we're going to do is finish off the top. Now a lot of times with skirts you add a facing but what we're going to do with this one is just simply fold over the top and then stitch. Now would be a really good time to go ahead and trim all these little extra threads from sewing up the panels. Once you have them all trimmed, you are going to simply fold over your top and a good place to start is where your zipper is. You take the iron and you press it down then you're going to pin it in place, you're going to be going all the way around the entire skirt folding it over pressing it down then pinning it in place. This is where it comes in really handy when you press your seams flat because then it just lays so much nicer. After you pin the entire top of the skirt you come around to the other side of the zipper and we're going to finish pinning it. You want to make sure that you leave a little bit probably about a quarter of an inch above the zipper. Because we're going to install a hook and eye there and that will just give you a really nice secure closure. "
