"Hi, I'm Candi Cane Canncel with Expert Village. In this clip I'm going to show you how to measure your hip and waist. So you can figure out how many panels you are going to need to cut out to make your fabulous new flared skirt. The first thing you want to do is measure your waist, whatever that measurement is write it down and the hip is above 9" lower than your waist. So you go ahead and measure that measurement and write that measurement down. For instance if your waist is 27" we made our top of our skirt panels 3 1/2" wide so if you have a 27-28" with seam allowance you probably be okay with about 10 panels. If it needs to be a little bit snugger, then you can go with 9 panels. If you need to be a little bit larger, probably about 11 panels."
