"I'm Candi Cane Canncel with Expert Village. If you like it to be even shorter, then just subtract the a couple of inches. So mine is 16" I've drawn a line and what I'm going to do is the first measurement that you are going to do is your top measurement. Mine is going to be 3 1/2" so what you do is take 3 1/2 and you divide into, so that is going to be 1 1/4" either side. You find 1 1/4" and you line it up with your line and just place two little dots on either side. After that you connect the dots. Come down to the bottom and our measurement is going to be 5 1/2", so what you're going to do is find 5 1/2" in the center point which will be roughly 2 3/4" line that up with your line and then make your dots. I'm actually including the seam allowance in this but if you wanted to make it even wider then go ahead and add 1/2" on either side for the seam allowance. Once you have your bottom line, you are going to be connecting both lines so line up your ruler at the top and the bottom and just draw a line. Line up the other side and draw another line now you are ready to cut it out. "
