Marking & Pinning Fabric for Sewing a Bound Buttonhole

" Hi, I'm Candi Cane Canncel with Expert Village. In this clip we're working on our fancy buttonhole it's called a bound buttonhole. They are sometimes also referred to as welt buttonholes so if you ever see a welt buttonhole or a bound buttonhole they are pretty much the same thing. The first thing you did is measure out your button and you mark your fabric then you are going to take your facing which is just a small piece of the same fabric. You are going to mark it also you just want to go ahead and place it exactly on the marking so they are lined up. You want to take some pins and go ahead and pin down your fabric and what we're going to be doing is stitching in a perfect rectangle. So you want to make sure that the fabric is really, really secure so that it doesn't never go anywhere. If you are a beginner you are not feeling very confident you can go ahead and mark about a 1/4" around from your marking. Just go ahead and mark a 1/4" going all the way around in a perfect little rectangle because that is what you are going to be stitching. You don't want to do it to dark cause you don't want it to show up with your stitches but if you feel more comfortable doing that then you are welcome to."
