"Hi, I'm Casey and I'm with Elements University. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment I'm going to show you how to set your guide for this A line haircut. So I already have my hair sectioned off into the back sections. What I'm going to do is come up I'm going to pull down a little bit of hair and I want to make sure that I'm taking clean and even partings. I'm going to go ahead and pin this up out of my way. So this is going to be my first section now my cape is getting in my way of my guideline. So I'm going to go ahead and take that off for a few seconds. I'm actually going to use her neck as a stabilizer for my hand and that way to I can actually go ahead and carve out that area that I need. Since I need this to kind of come up in an angle I'm going to start at an angle and I'm going to come straight down. I'm going to go ahead and do the other side first. This is where I'm going to use the back of her neck to help me out so what I'm going to do is comb the hair straight down on her neck pressing against. I'm going to hold my hand here so I hold the hair in place and I'm going to come in and get rid of all these little extra hairs. As you can see when I'm cutting I'm obviously wanting to leave a length on the sides because if you remember we're going to have the haircut going from short and gradually going into long. I'm going to do the same thing on the other side, you need to make sure that she's even. At this point what I'm going to do is I'm just going to kind of let the hair naturally fall and then I'm going to see where I need to adjust my line. I'm not going to use any attention I'm just going to let the hair naturally fall where it needs to go. Still making sure that my sides are longer than the middle section of my hair cut. So at this point this is going to be my starting point and my guide for the following sections that are going to end up coming down. Stay tune for the next segment which I'm going to show you how to cut the back section of the hair cut."
