Hello, this is Sherry Krieger. Once again, we are talking about hot stone massage today. We are talking about the preparation of the client for the massage. First of all, at the very beginning of the massage, you should introduce yourself to your client and make sure they are comfortable. Secondly when they get on the table face down to start the back of the hot stone massage, you have to treat them carefully and comfortably. Different clients like different kinds of draping. You have to be careful to be in tune with your client. You need to speak with them constantly during your work and make sure that they are comfortable and that the stones are not overheating, possibly being too hot on their skin and that kind of thing. When you place the stones, once again you place the larger stones on the lower back and the shoulders and the smaller stones in various places up and down the spine, the spine, the hands and the feet. In issuing hot stone massage, the stones sink in and the heat sinks in.
