"I'm Amelia Smith and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to talk to you about how to do the perfect blowout. So now as you can see we've got Lauren's layers on the sides coming towards her face and they're all nice and smooth. So we're going to work on giving her some volume on through the top and the best way to do that is to direct her hair up as you're drying because remember you want to dry in the opposite direction that you wear it. So I'm going to direct her hair up and I am still going to use the larger round brush. The smaller round brush I'm really only going to use maybe for some finishing on the ends and her fringe. But her hair is just a little too long to use the smaller round brush, if I did use that it might get caught, so I'm going use the larger round brush. A good rule of thumb is you want to be able to have that hair wrap around at least once and if it does more than that then it might be a little too small. I'm just going to take a section, put this back in, and I'm going to direct this up and back. I'm going to make sure I heat it up and then use my cool hot button, which is right there, and again we will explain that later. I'm going to turn it on low so I'm not blowing the hair all over the place. I can still keep perfect control over the hair. And this may seem like a lot of work but once you do it a few times you'll find your own shortcuts. So I'm directing the hair up, and remember I'm drying in the direction of the new hair grown, not against it because that will cause frizz. And now I'm cooling the hair off. And it's ok if you've got the time, you can even take the brush out and you can either put a roller in place. This I would do if you have something big going on that night or something. You can even just pin that in place and that will cool on its own. And that will hold that shape better once it is cool. Think of it as hardening. So I'm going to finish the rest of the top of Lauren's hair and then we'll come back and discuss the front. "
