How to Section Blowout Hairstyles

"I'm Amelia Smith and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to talk to you about how to do a perfect blowup. This is a lot of hair to work with, so you don't want to have to get all into it because if so you'll end up with a big mess and your brushes will get caught up. So it's really important to section the hair off. Now that may seem like it's going to take extra time in the morning, but that extra time spent there will take off time in the end if you're having to rip the brush out of your head. So I'm going to section this hair up, I'm going to get this hair out of my way and I'm going to first focus on smoothing out this back hair here. I'm just getting this section out of the way here. You really only need to worry about two sections. Then I'm going to smooth this out and since it is about 80% dry I'm going to use the larger round brush and that's going to help add smoothness instead of body. Now I'm just taking sections and I'm drying down. You always want to make sure that you dry down the hair shaft. What that does is imparts shine, if you blow up then you're going against the cuticles, so just think against the grain. So this way you're going to impart shine, this way you're going to impart frizz. You want the dryer on fairly warm heat. I like to have it on high but once you start getting into the detail styling then I would suggest putting it on low so you don't blow the hair all over the head.
