For volume of course you know there are women who like the hair that is more blown up back and away from their face. More volume, more height to the top that is done with the use of brushes, curling irons, flat brushes all of that is going to help you get that volume. Also when you are drying your hair another thing that helps is sectioning and the angle that you hold the dryer. Also the direction in which you are blowing the hair. If you blow the hair in the opposite direction that it grows you are going to get more volume. If you use the round end of the head and smooth that hair back and use that then you would get more smoothness. "
