"Okay, we have just finished rinsing out the conditioner and what we are going to do while the hair and the scalp are still wet is put our first little bit of oil on there. Her oil of choice is avocado oil, this is what she uses regularly and it works best with her particular scalp. It is different for everybody so try different ones until you find one that works best for you. The avocado oil is going in here right onto the scalp while the hair is still wet because the scalp will absorb the oil right along with the water. You just put a little bit in your hand and just kind of rub it right onto the scalp. Don't put it too much in the hair just yet; we are going to add some different things in there later. But you just want to make sure that you get it right on the scalp just to add moisture that way it does not dry out, there is no flaking, nothing bad happens and it keeps the scalp loose all the skin on there to be ready to be pulled on to be braided."
