"'Retire' is 'tui xiu'. 'Tui xiu', 'retire'. 'Tui' just means 'do not work' and 'xui', it means 'rest' or 'break'. That is, rest after working very long period of time. That is, you do not work and have a rest. This is the meaning, literal meaning, of 'tui xiu'. 'Xiu' means 'xiu xi'. 'Xiu xi' is 'rest' or 'break' so we use this character and 'xiu' with 'tui' to create another new word. 'Tui xiu', 'retire'."
