"OK. Now let me teach you the Chinese word for chopsticks-- kuai zi. Kuai zi, and kuai, you can see that each conveys the meaning of chopsticks because zi doesn't have any meaning. And the upper part of kuai is a character like this. This is what we call bambo character, bambo radical and if this radical is on the top of a character, it's written like this, and originally this is the word zhu, for bambo. And, let's see, the lower part, the lower part pronunciation of the lower part is kuai, so identical with the character kaui, it's kaui. And zi, OK? Now let's write kaui zi with both spin and pronunciation parts, this is kaui zi, chopsticks."
