"Now let me teach for pear that is li. One character for this word. In this character we can see the upper part is the pronunciation radical, actually this part its pronunciation is li. Li and li sounds very similar, and the lower part- this is a character in Chinese which means tree. So we call this, when it becomes a radical, we call this a tree radical. So you can see that in this character we have the meaning part and the pronunciation part and this is how some Chinese words are made. Let's write it again. Li, and because this is the tree radical we know that pear is pear tree and some fruit names you can see this radical which means grass. So these two radicals are the most common radicals we can find in our words about fruits, or plants, or flowers."
