"Now we come to the dining table and in Chinese it is "can zhuo". "Can" here is dining, and "zhuo" is table. Let's look at this complicated character. This part is pronunciation. It is exactly the same as the whole character, it just means "meal", or "food". So you can see that this part is the mini part of this character. Let's put this small part on the right. The lower part is pronounced as "shi" which also means "food". So, in this complicated character we have 2 parts indicating its meaning, one is "can" and the other is "shi" in the lower. Now follow me and let's write "can zhuo" again. Make the 2 strokes long enough to cover the lower part. "Can zhuo" - dining table."
