"This is word formation using sandpaper letters. Pull each one out and say the sound. Show the children how they can form the at words. Go, at, cat, bat, mat. Now, have them try. At, bat. I usually slide the letter in and let them tell me what it says. Cat, mat, and that's letter formation using sandpaper letters."
