The way you do this is, you think about all the positive things, all the good things that you think about when you think about good public speakers. They're fluent, they're poised, they're funny, they're confident. What ever it is, and you create a profile of what you want to be like, what you want your self image, as a public speaker to be. What do you want to project? I want to project confidence so I'm going to make eye contact. I want to project knowledge so I'm going to speak clearly and proficiently about my topic. I want to present enthusiasm or what ever it is, create this image of how you want to be perceived as a public speaker and start striving for it. Put all the mistakes, all the negative things away and start focusing on the positive things that you can do to appear confident."
