"Alright, something else you want to consider when you're thinking about using humor. We've already talked about is it appropriate in the sense of, is it rude or vulgar. I want to talk about it in the sense of appropriateness towards your audience. Is the humor that you're choosing to use, will that particular audience find it funny. For example, if you are doing a speech in front of a group of retired welders, let's say. Baby jokes might not be funny. Or, if you're giving a speech in front of a group of mothers, (or stay at home moms, or working moms) then baby jokes, or baby stories, or baby anecdotes, might really be funny. But the welders might be a little perplexed as to why you're saying that, and why it's funny. So as you're selecting your humor also select is it going to work for your particular audience, for that particular speech."
