"Now the first thing that we have to talk about when we're preparing to be conversational in our style when we're giving a speech, is enthusiasm and passion. And what this means, enthusiasm is pretty obvious. You are excited about whatever it is that you're talking about. Passion is you feel connected to it, it means something to you. And those two things are real important when you're giving a speech, because if you feel connected to whatever it is you're talking about, if you're excited about whatever it is you're talking about, that's going to come through in your voice. If you're not excited about it, if you could care less about it, that enthusiasm, that passion, will not exist. And so, you will become a bit robotic in your speaking. Now one of the ways that you can ensure enthusiasm and passion, some people are just enthusiastic and passionate people, if you're one of those people you've got a leg up. But if you're not, if you tend to be a little more mellow, a little more low key, it's important when you're giving speeches, if you have the opportunity to pick topics that you care about. Don't just pick a topic because you have an assignment or you have to give a speech. Pick something that you love. That enthusiasm and that passion for that subject that you love will help you be more conversational."
