"Now I mentioned in the last clip, Positive and Negative. And we're talking about compliance gaining strategies. And I want to talk about something that's very similar to the promise and the threat. But it's called Positive and Negative. In the last clip we talked about, "I'm going to promise you a reward". Or, "I'm going to threaten you with something bad." Positive, Negative is the opposite of that. I'm going to promise you something bad is going to happen". Where before we were promising a reward. Now we're promising something negative. And we are threatening something good. Possibly in the sense of threatening good thing will be taken away. "If you can't start going to bed on time. I'm going to have to take away your Friday trip to the movies". So they're basically the same thing but it a little different. Are you promising something bad or are you promising something good? Are you threatening something bad or are you threatening something good. They can all mix match together."
