"Now, another form of compliance seeking strategy is positive identity management. And what you do in this strategy is you try to make the person who's making the request feel very good about themselves. Now remember in the other identity management we made that we were trying to maybe make them feel like what they?re wanting us to do was wrong. Well now, we're going to put a different spin on it and we're going to be very positive. You are such an upstanding student, I'm really surprised that you would ask me to do that. You're an amazing writer, why won't you just write your own paper. You are so smart, you can sit down and do this. I've seen you do amazing work before. Whatever it is that you want to say, you become very positive about that person to get them to leave you alone and go do their own thing."
