"Now we're going to talk about with regards to compliance gaining strategies, positive altercasting and negative altercasting. This is something that we hear people do a lot. Positive altercasting is when I communicate with you well you should do that because a good person would do that and you're a good person. That is positive. Or I might do it in this way, which is negative. Well, you're not going to do what I want because you're just a jerk anyway. You're a bad person and only bad people wouldn't take me to the store. Only a bad person wouldn't buy me a new car. So again, this is similar to the feelings, but this is putting people in a general category. You're a good person because you're doing what I want, or you're a bad person because you're not going to do what I want."
