"Hello! My name is Terry Neven, administator of California Home Educators and principal of Sunland Christian School. In this clip we are going to talk about things to consider for families and students. If you have begun to look into home schooling that are considering teaching your own child at home, many times families do so in order to resolve an outside conflict. Maybe there is a conflict at school or social problem or developmental problem with your child. Maybe they need to learn patience or develop study skills. These are valid reasons why families might choose to teach their own children at home. You want to make sure you take into consideration hanging in for the process realizing that there are going to be things to work through and there are going to be joys and benefits to home schooling. One of the greatest things to home schooling is the purpose to help teach our children self motivation and self direction. Home schooling doesn't require a parent teaching their child moment by moment but to help that child to learn how to become self motivated and things of life and direct themselves and learn how to follow instructions. These are important things to consider when families and students begin home schooling. "
