"As you are working with your child you will find that there are many other literary and phonetic rules as to how you say a word. They'll pop up from time to time. You don't have to catch all of them but as you run into them or as they occur to you, you can make a whole new page showing that rule. Some other rules I am going to mention is the rule of i before e except after c. There is the rule, I never learned this as a rule, but I noticed this as a child. Every time tion is on a word it is pronounced shion. There is the gh as the f sound as in rough laugh and tough. There is a gh silent as in caught, bought, and taught. Don't worry about catching every single rule. You can try but inevitably you will probably miss some. Children will pick up their own rules and they will learn as they start understanding and they will notice how different words sound similar in different situations. Every child does. I remember learning a lot of rules on my own as I was learning to read. Try to introduce as many as possible and don't fret over every single entire one in the English vocabulary."
