"Hi, I'm Ann Kennedy on behalf of Expert Village. We'll be looking at how to teach a child to read using big books and read alouds. In this session we're going to look at reading with a purpose part 1. I'll be buying my child's some thing with technology and I think it's important that I find a book that uses technology I'm reading with a purpose by introducing purpose with technology in this book. This particular book Dooby Dooby moo how fun well this is a story line that is fun and it has great sounds and I know my child needs to hear more and more sounds. By looking through the book I find that there is a lot of opportunities to echo read and a lot of interactive games so I would choose this book for those purposes. The next book Dick and Jane goes beyond levels when you read with a purpose while my child needs to start learning about basic story lines. When I glance through this book I saw that they had a lot of basic story lines and they also have a lot of quotations. So I can teach them to read when using stop signals and reading punctuation. It goes on and on no matter what book I choose take a minute glance through the book and now what your purpose is in that read."
