"Except a steeper stroke, and also that will achieve the kind of variety of strokes that we are trying to achieve. So horizontal hook, vertical, good division of space, and then another one. This one you need to different from that one to achieve a little more variety, otherwise if it goes steep like this, you will find difficulty to find if we want to stop the right slant like that. It's kind of awkward and create a sharp angle there and also leave plenty of space here. So to remedy that, we have a stroke that's at a flatter angle than the vertical, or more steep left slant and then the right slant comes natural."
