How to Keep the Attentiion of the Youth in your Youth Group

"Hello, I am Jeff Trentham, children’s pastor at Calvary Church here in Irving and I am coming to you on behalf of Expert Village to give you some insight as to how to keep kids’ attention. So we just want to cover a few segments here with you, let’s take a look at one of those ways on capturing the kids attention. One of them is the facility and the way it looks, the kids love it when they get here. They see all kinds of bright colors and exciting things that are going on. If you are at a smaller church, smaller building then obviously you have to be a little bit more creative. We have got a few things that we would like to show you just to give you a little bit of insight and tell you about. When we were developing a program for an army theme, we decided to borrow some items and set up a rocket and get some camo in it and just different things that made the set look really good. And when the kids came in, it is very attractive to them and it creates that excitement and it keeps their attention. We have also done things like when we were building a set for a city, we developed a city out of cardboard and that was exciting. And it took us a while to build it but it was incredible, the kids came in and they could see that and they thought ‘Wow something is happening here’. So little things like that will capture the kids’ attention."
