"In this clip we're going to talk about how to create a press release for your convention. If you're not familiar with a press release, it's really very simple. What you want to do is put some information together to different sources, media sources, newspapers, online convention advertisers, with information about your convention. And really you need three pieces of information The first one is you want to talk about the date that your convention is. Get that out there first. The second thing is you want to talk about what guests you have lined up and if you're going to have future guests even if you don't know who they are currently. And the third thing you want to do is to direct people to your website to find you and find out how they can actually purchase tickets and attend the event. And then once you've done that just put that together in a very simple format and find the avenues to do that. On the sci-fi side you can go, just do some Google searches and you'll find things like startrek.com, for example you'll find, convention websites for anime that will actually post your information and you can get them out there six, seven, eight months in advance. The other thing you'll want to do is do media advertising. So you'll want to think about where you want to put your advertising. For example this happens to be an advertising that I ran in a Miami college newspaper, thinking that these were going to be college students and those teenager types that would see it. So find your market, make very simple press releases and get it out there as quickly as you can."
