It gives you kind of a guide line of the steps that you should go through and since their is so many different components and pieces that you should check before you take off on a trip it really helps you layout the steps you need to go through and keep track of what you have done. Things that should be on a check list are everything that we have talked about checking your lights, checking your breaking mechanism, checking your breaking fluid, checking your safety chains, checking your strut, greasing your bearings, make sure that your fenders are not rubbing up against the tires, checking your tire pressure. All those things need to go on to your check list, so everything that you find that is wrong with the trailer while you are running through your initial check list should also be added as a repair before you take off. As long as you make a simple check list most of the time you can get their and knock it out pretty quickly and find most minor problems before they end up causing major problems."
