"Hi, I am Albert Headsmith with Expert Village. Today we are going to talk a little bit about trailer maintenance. One thing that people typically overlook when dealing with trailer maintenance is making sure the vehicle that is pulling the boat or trailer is registered and registered appropriately and making sure the tags are current and registered with the department of transportation. Trailers do not have to be inspected although it is a good idea to inspect your trailer on your own. Another thing that is not required is insurance with a trailer. The insurance of the vehicle is actually what covers any damage that is done by the trailer, so unless you are looking for theft insurance it is probably a good idea to make sure that you speak with your adjuster just to get an idea of what they recommend what you should keep for insurance on your car while towing your trailer. If you go ahead and make sure that your license plate is current, if you keep a copy of your registration of your car while you are towing your trailer and that you go ahead and get some insurance to cover any liability damages that are done while you are pulling your trailer most of the times you will end up on top."
