"Now, the next thing I want to talk about is possibly one of the most important things that you can do before and during your job search. It's called networking. And what networking is, is meeting people who are out there, they have jobs in the area you want to go into, they know people that work at the places that you possibly want to go to work for. Many, many times, people get jobs because they know somebody, or someone, they have an in the company. Oh, I'm friends with Jim, or I'm Steve's daughter, or whatever. So, networking is real important for you to get out there and meet the people who know people. You can do this in a whole lot of ways. Get involved in your community, become a part of an organization, clubs, just getting out and about in the community. Get involved in fund raising or whatever you can do in the community because there's all walks of life everywhere and you never, ever know who you're going to meet and how they might be able to help you in your future job search."
