"Hi, I'm Brenda F. Dixon, a licensed clinical social worker here in Nashville, Tennessee and we're here with Expert Village today. Anger has two looks. It has an aggressive look and it has an assertive look. The aggressive look will kick, hit, storm, be red faced, door slamming, you know the look. Aggressive is not very pretty. Aggression is learned behavior. Let's say you have a mother that's very easy going, fun to be around, raising children, young children. You've got a dad that is very easy going, absolutely nothing can rawl him, he goes to work, comes home, pays the bills, happy. But you've got an uncle in the family that comes in, he's there everyday, he doesn't live there but he's there everyday, he's a hard head, he kicks things, he hits things, he talks about it, and this little child or these little children are exposed to this and see it and hear it. What do you think is happening? That child is learning how to have a new kind of anger, they're really not getting it from mother and from dad, but they are getting it from who they are exposed to. They are exposed to the angry uncle. They take it on and it has a life of its own. We'll talk more about that the next time."
