"I'm Jamal Spencer for Expert Village, here at ABC 3 here in Lansing, and we're going to talk about how to be a successful sports broadcaster. In this clip we're going to talk about doing what you love. Let's be honest, sports aren't for everyone. There are a lot of people who want to get into journalism but don't know anything about sports. I actually had a guy who wanted to work for me who didn't know who the Harlem Globetrotters was. Needless to say, I don't think he's going to be in this business very long, let's be honest. But for those of us who love it, wake up and turn on the television wondering what happened in the world of sports, it's a beautiful business. We're very fortunate to be doing what we love, and we actually want you to get into the business, too. That's why we're doing videos like this. I want to tell you that when you do what you love it makes your product that much better. When you're genuinely passionate about covering sports, you don't mind getting on the road and heading out there, standing on Lambeau Field in ten degree weather to talk the Packers. It's wonderful. This is a great job, with great opportunities, and anyone who's in this business is lucky. We really love this job and doing what you love really makes it that much better, like I said, because you're out there, you're having fun, which is the most important thing. Who wants to be stuck in a cubicle all day, typing on a keyboard? You get to get out. You get to cover sporting events. You get to interview superstars. You get to talk to their wives, if you know what I mean. But, no. It's actually a great job. You have a lot of fun, you meet new people every single day and you get experience. I don't know what you think, but this is the greatest job in the world and you're very fortunate if you're doing it, so have fun doing it."
