"On behalf of expertvillage.com, I'm Jim Koch and today we are talking about professional locksmith would gain entry into your home when you have locked your keys in it. I am going to show you basically how to pick a door knob. The first thing you are going to do is you are going to want to take your tension wrench. Tension is a very critical part of picking a lock. If the tension is too much, the pins won't trap right and if the tension is too little, the pins won't trap at all and either way you won't get the door unlocked. You insert your tension wrench put it where it is down low and out of your way putting just a little bit of pressure. Generally one finger is more than enough. You insert the lock pick and begin to work that up and down. What you are doing right now is you are moving the pins up and down allowing them to line up with the sheer line. Once you've picked the lock, it turns easily and away you go. Now in this case, I've picked the lock in the wrong direction and a lot of times it will pick in the wrong direction easier than it will in the right direction. That is why they make this tool; this is a plug spinner. You wind this up, you lock it, you insert it in a lock and what this does is it spins the plug back around without having to pick the lock. Now if you watch real close, it picks the lock, spins it the other way and now your door is opened. Now we are also show you another method that is going to include just like you started out the first time, insert your tension wrench. This method you are going to use a pick gun. A pick gun can be a little easier most of the time. Basically you put your tension wrench, get it all set, get your tension applied, take your pick gun and you slide that in and you want it to be just below the pins not actually touching them. Give it a couple of squeezes and your lock is unlocked. "
