"Hi! My name is Leslie Moselle and we're here at Mickey Quinn's in Seminole, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, this is how to be a successful server. Working at a restaurant for years and years, you usually tend to gather those customers who always come back and who always ask for you. You're not going to get those regulars unless you spend the time to be observant and pay attention to the people that come in. Usually when you have a regular, they're regular for a reason. They come in at the same time, they sit at the same table, and they order the same drink probably the same meal every time they come in. Regulars are great, but if you want to earn those regulars, then you want to go ahead and make sure that you're paying attention to what it is that you're ordering. Say you have the same guy or lady come in everyday at the same time and they order the same thing, listen. Make sure you know what kind of drink they order. They order a margarita. Do they order it on the rocks? Do they get it with salt? What kind of liquor do they get in it? These are things that you want to pay attention to because the next time that person comes in, all you have to do is go to the table and be like hi sir/ma'am. How are you going today? It's nice to see you again? You can say are you going to have another margarita today? You want that with salt on the rocks right? Those are things that customers really appreciate. They want to feel comfortable. They want to come to that comfortable spot that they always go to. They want to go to that restaurant that they love and that they enjoy, and they want to make sure they're treated well and that they get good service. Make sure the next time you have one of those regulars come in, that you pay close attention to what they have. You can come in. You can get their order exactly the way they want it and they don't even have to ask for it. A prepared server creates happy customers."
