"On behalf of expertvillage.com I'm Lori Wyman with Lori Wyman Casting in North Miami Beach, Florida and today we're going to talk about how to prepare for on camera acting auditions. Something that I have found that sabotages an actor before their audition is having a preconceived idea of the person they are auditioning for. What I mean by that is you've always heard about the person you're auditioning for, the casting director or the director is mean, is hard, is intimidating, is an ogre and so you come in and you're all scared. Many years ago I was casting the television show in Miami called Miami Vice and an actor came in, he had driven from Palm Beach all the way to Miami and that's about an hour and a half drive. So he walked in and we chatted for a few minutes and when we finished he said, "oh what is your name?" I said, oh I'm sorry sir, I thought you knew my name, I'm Lori Wyman. He looked at me and said, "well you're so nice." What happen was someone had told him something about me that wasn't true and when he got to the audition, he was all upset and he was all worked up and he said, "I told her if she said one thing wrong to me, I was going to get her." Unnecessarily so, because we had a wonderful audition experience. So don't let the words of somebody else sabotages you when you go in for an audition with a casting director."
