"Now we're going to discuss the types of customer service. I'm Pamela Unruh on behalf of Expert Village. The next important step to consider when you're dealing with a customer in person is to demonstrate. Now this is a very very good opportunity for you. Remember the old adage, if you get a man fish you feed him for a day, but if you teach them to fish, you feed him for life. Well this is important with your customers as well. It will reduce the traffic that you have in your store and repeat questions. If a customer comes to you and wants to know how to operate for example; a function on their cell phone and you know whenever you go into a cell phone place, it's always, always crowded. Often times just because it's easier, the technician is going to take that phone and they're just going to fix whatever problem you have, close it up, and hand it back to you, there, your issue is fixed. But if they take the time to explain to you, why you're not getting the voice mail properly, maybe they need to show you how to set that up, then that's experience and information that you as a customer have, that will not only help you know your product better, but you'll understand it better and if you have that, you're going to be more likely to continue to use it."
