"In this section we'll be discussing another model known as the ABCs of customer service. I'm Pamela Unruh on behalf of Expert Village. Let's take a minute and talk about your workspace in a little bit more detail but from another approach. Your workspace should be personal a lot of employees prefer to have personal items it makes them feel a little bit more calm. Think about it you really spend more waking hours at your desk or in your workspace then what you do at home. So most companies do encourage employees to bring in some items that help them feel a little bit more comfortable while they are there. Pictures of their children, pictures of their spouses, troll dolls whatever it is you like or whatever hobby that you have. Remember the Drew Carey show Mimi always had the troll dolls but the thing to remember about that is there is a difference between personal items and items that are just to personal. As I was saying a little bit ago having a picture of my husband on desk is a little different than having a picture of husband in his boxers on my desk. Certain aspects that you just don't want the general public or your co-workers to see. You also have to be careful about items that could be defensive by other employees or co-workers as well remember it's not how you proceed that object to be but if it's proceed as offensive or to personal by another person. Then it would be offensive or too personal so when you bring these items into your workspace remember they are meant to feel comfortable and to share some aspects about your personal life be very careful about crossing that line into what is to personal."
