"In this section we're going to be discussing a model known as 123s of customer service. I'm Pamela Unruh with Expert Village. Now the last part of the one in the 123s of customer service is using a data base for what other customer information you may have on hand. Maybe you have database with your customers information in it. I once had a hair dresser who I loved because she kept an index card file on everybody. Every personal information she learned about you she would write it on the index card and the next time you came in she would ask "how is your daughter married doing in school, the last time you mentioned she was getting ready to do a play", it's those little bit of information that do make the customer feel a lot more important. The industry that I currently work in I keep a database of customer information and how long they had the particular equipment that would be installed here. When a customer calls me on the phone and needs assistance it gives me a very good opportunity first to find out what their name is and to use there name. With that information I can pull them up in the system and then repeat these facts back to them. A lot of customers told me that they are very impressed with the fact that we have all of that accurate information. It also has made it a lot quicker and easier for me if I have that information available. So do keep an accurate database it not only helps your customer feel a little bit more individual but it will also help you save a little bit of time as well."
