"REBECCA SATO: Hi. I'm Rebecca with ExpertVillage.com, and we've going to talk about the business side of being a writer. A lot of times as a writer we are--I don't want to generalize, because not everybody, but I should say a lot or writers are right-brain thinkers or more of the creative type and they are the feeling type and they aren't necessarily the logical business-minded type. I guess is what I'm getting at. And so as a writer, you're going to have certain skills that you're going to need to learn that probably don't come intuitively to you. As a writer, it probably is very intuitive for you to create and to dream and design and to think and to put pieces together of the puzzle, but the less appealing side of that is the business side of what you're doing. But it's important to become good at that. That you have to know that you have to respect that what you're doing is a business. As a writer, yes, it's great and it's fun, but at the end of the day, you're providing a service and you're being paid for it. It's like any other type of business."
