One of the most valuable questions to ask yourself before you speak is, okay, now what is the one thing my audience is totally skeptical about? Try to answer those ideas as soon as possible in your talk to disarm them. Here are three keys to disarming the preoccupation of any audience.
#1 Honesty first. Tell the truth, tell it all and tell it now. People will appreciate your honesty especially if you offer it immediately. What is more, you are validating the credibility of everything you say thereafter.
#2 Social proof. Consider sharing testimonials from past programs that have worked with you, saying that it was an outstanding usage of your information. Show this proof that says, what you are teaching them does work.
#3 Do your research. Google everything, interview similar people in the audience asking them the question, what is the most important part of your business or what should I say that would terribly upset everybody? Oh! Do not forget to share your research early. The whole reason you disarm the preoccupation of the audience is so, in the first two minutes of your speech, everyone is thinking, this guy did his homework. These keys will enable you to disarm any preoccupied audience.
