"Hey, we are talking about words and great word choices, and I want to talk now about stereotyping. This is kind of the next step after gender language and staying away from being so specific. What stereotyping is is putting individuals regardless of the big picture of the individual and assigning them according to their class or to their category. It's taking an individual and assuming they're just like the rest of a certain type. Stereotyping old people. Stereotyping gay people. Stereotyping college professors. Stereotyping is not good in public speaking. You never ever want to do it. You never want to throw everybody in the same pit with everybody else and making an assumption that they are the same. Making an assumption that they act the same way, they feel the same way, they do things the same way. Never ballpark anyone when you're delivering a speech. Never stereotype. It's just wrong."
