"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell. Now in this clip I’m going to talk to you about one of the main complaints that a lot of women. You are either in menopause or entering menopause complain about when they go and see their doctor and that is dryness, particularly vagina dryness. That’s caused usually by, because they have decreased production of estrogen in the body so that’s one of the properties of estrogen so when you lack estrogen in your body you’re gonna be, going to be prone to having dryness and, of your mucosal skin layers and your surface skin layer too. So one of the recommendations that we actually give to our patients, we advise them to use lots of topical creams to prevent the dryness and also for example you can get petroleum jelly, lubricating jelly and especially for vagina dryness you can use that and you can apply it you know consistently and all the time to try and prevent some of the pain from the dryness and also you can buy it, not just, you can buy actually estrogen cream either in a topical form which you can apply over your skin or around the labia of your vagina too to help lubricate and particularly women when they enter menopause they feel the lack of sexual desire. Because of the dryness of the vagina so, so this is one way to help you at least to be able to overcome one of those symptoms, a very common symptom that women come in complaining about when they are entering menopause.
