"Hello, my name is Doctor Susan Jewell and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to talk to you about how to live with menopause. Now, in this clip, there are several things I've written down: ways to reduce hot flashes. Now, several ways here; the first one, obviously, is the layer of clothing. My recommendation/advice is that for most women who really have a lot of hot flash occurrences, is to wear light cotton clothing, layered so that when they feel that one hot flash is coming on, they can just take off the layer accordingly to how they feel. If it's really hot, they can take off several layers and if it gets cold, then they can put it back on. So, layering clothes is actually a good way to deal with hot flashes. Wear natural fabrics, like cotton and silk, and linen as opposed to polyester and all those synthetic fabrics because it retains heat as opposed to the natural fabrics that dissipates the heat very nicely."
