"Another form of treatment that can be helpful in ADHD are alternative therapies such as meditation, Yoga. Physical activities such dance or Martial Arts can be very helpful. In ADHD it's hard for a person to feel like they can slow their thoughts down, slow their head down. It's a very fast paced place inside the brain of somebody with ADHD. And well, medication can be helpful in slowing things down and making things more orderly in terms of thought process and mental processing. It's been found that meditation and mind fullness training have been effective to help an ADHD person to control the speed of their thoughts. To control their emotions. Control things like impulsivity, and distractibility. It can be a way for an ADHD person to get in touch with their brain, so to speak. Physical activities like Yoga or dance or Martial Arts are activities with structure and guidance which tend to be essential for ADHD people throughout their life. That also involves a physical expenditure, an output of energy. ADHD people are often quite energetic whether they outwardly show it or not. And things like Yoga and dance or Martial Arts can be very effective in not only in helping ADHD person to burn off some of their extra energy. But also giving them an activity that aligns the function of the mind and the thought process of the mind. Along with the activities and motions of the body. And these things can be extremely helpful in bringing a sense of order to person with ADHD. "
