"So, when you call you will be told your result be it positive or negative. And, both of those isn't exactly entirely clear cut as to a yes or no depending on your background. If you call and have a negative result, congratulations. You've tested negative for the HIV virus. However, if you have ample reason to believe you have been exposed despite the negative test you'll want to retest in six months. Because, it can take the time for the virus to develop and accumulate in your body. Otherwise, HIV negative status is maintained by sure to be fastidious about protected sex. That means, using a condom or dental dam where applicable and using them properly. And, by not sharing IV drug equipment if you do choose to use IV drugs. There's also a method of rinsing out an IV syringe with bleach if you need to do that. And, that can slow the transmission of AIDS between IV drug users. HIV negative status is an important thing to protect if you do have it. There's no reason to get yourself infected with the disease if you can avoid it such."
