"So, we start the massage with a diagonal stretch as I'm working on the back. The main meridian on the back is the bladder meridian, but it has connections to various chi points throughout the body. As you see I'm crossing the arms here, and I'm having my fingers point away from Sarah. My right arm, my right hand is on her shoulder blade, and my left is on her lower hip, here. I'm pushing away from her. I'm creating a stretch and an opening. Keep breathing. You can let go of the tension and resume it. Slightly move your palms an inch or two in either direction. It's also a healing, intuitive art, here. I'm sensing where she needs me to go. I'll cross my hands and I'll work the other direction. My deep breathing there is also a reminder to Sarah that I want her to do the same. It's incredible, especially if you're working on somebody new, there's a degree of tension here. When you're working on somebody it's an intimate experience. Touch is very powerful. A lot of people don't want to be touched, so the relaxation can take awhile. We start off very, very slowly, a very, very safe area here in the back. The back is very, very strong. When they say "your back is up against the wall", it's like your last protection. So we're just introducing the body to another body working on it. How's that feel? Okay? So we'll come back and work on the lumbar area."
