"SARAH HAUER: Hi. I'm Sarah Hauer. SIG HAUER: And I'm Sig Hauer, and we're professional practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. SARAH HAUER: We're here on behalf of Expert Village. SIG HAUER: And welcome to our video. SARAH HAUER: Another category of herbs is to regulate chi, and the herbs in this grouping are commonly used. And we talk a lot about regulating chi in our acupuncture treatments as well. That's one thing we do very efficiently with acupuncture needles is we move stuck chi. You can open the meridians and unblock blocked passages. These herbs are used for stuck chi in the body as well, and that can translate through many different conditions. For example, if you have digestive problems where you're not moving your food through your stomach and intestines and this is a very simplistic explanation that this is one of the applications is to regulate your digestion, keep things moving. To regulate chi is also a great category in its application for pain conditions as well because when you injure yourself or even in chronic conditions, chi tends to get stuck. And one of the ways our body heals is by bringing blood and chi to the area and nourishing that injury; torn ligaments, arthritic joints. So, one thing that these herbs can do, this category very efficiently is help move stuck chi and they're very effective in the treatment of pain as well. Now, these alone are not the only herbs we would use for the treatment of pain. Again, it would be in combination with other herbs to address your whole constitutional diagnosis."
